Greetings from the Emmanuel Gilbert Lung Cancer Foundation
Kidada is a native New Yorker who grew up in Houston, TX. She attended Houston’s DeBakey High School for Health Professions where she graduated with Honors and later attended Xavier University of New Orleans, LA where she graduated cum laude, with a Bachelors in Science in Biology and Chemistry in 1998.
Later, Kidada attended the University of Texas Medical Branch for medical school and graduated with her MD in 2002.
She did her residency training in Pathology and also completed her Masters of Public Health at Brooklyn’s SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
After returning to Houston, Kidada did her fellowships in Cytopathology and Gastrointestinal / Liver Pathology at UTMB and UT Houston.
For about 10 years Kidada has been working as a Board Certified Anatomical, Clinical and Cytopathology pathologist in a private pathology practice in Houston. She served on the Texas Department of State Health Services: Maternity Mortality and Morbidity Task Force for two years.
She is very much involved in medical associations like;
- The Houston Medical Forum
- The Mary Susan Moore Medical Society
- The Houston Society of Clinical Pathologists.
and is also an active member of the;
- Galveston County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Incorporated
- The Fort Bend County (TX) Chapter of The Links Incorporated
- The Twelve Days of Christmas, Incorporated (Houston) Chapter.
